GYRE watering can

For the last project in my first year of Industrial Design I was faced with the challenge of designing a watering can. This is Gyre, an elegant and sophisticated product perfect for those with balcony plants in small apartments.
It is designed in such a way that it can easily fit into the sink, and even left there on its own as it fills up
The form of the handle allows for a comfortable and intuitive grip; it can be held in more than one way to accommodate to the users' preferences
Its shape creates an easy way to hand it from a railing, so that it doesn't take up floor or shelf space and so that it adds on to the look of your
After a few iterations (from sketches to prototypes) the final overall form was developed and showcased through a segmented model that suggests the 3D form of the object
The form was slightly changed from one to the next in suggestion of the users who were testing it and my own judgement of what could be improved

The final model, made of black foam-core, explains how the watering can is filled up, held and hung for storage
